On January 22, 2015 Officers from the Hartford Police Department Central Conditions Unit (CCU) were conducting a directed patrol in the rear of 79 Sumner Street, in response to an influx of complaints regarding illegal drug activity on the premises. The Officers investigation was focused on a white SUV occupied by two males who did not live at the building. Upon illuminating the vehicle, both occupants began to nervously move around the passenger compartment. Officers approached the occupants of the vehicle. During the investigation officers discovered a firearm inside the breast pocket the passengers jacket. Both parties were taken into custody without incident. STF was notified and debriefed the passenger.

On January 21, 2015, Hartford Police Department Detectives from the Vice Intel & Narcotics Unit (VIN) with the assistance of the ERT Team, executed a search warrant at 191/193 Jefferson Street (basement apartment). Through ongoing covert investigations, detectives were able to obtain information that there was firearm and narcotics "stashed" inside the apartment. A search of the apartment interior revealed an illegal firearm, heroin, marijuana, and packaging material. The target of the search warrant was placed under arrest for various firearm and narcotics charges.

HARTFORD POLICE TO CONDUCT DUI ENFORCEMENT CHECKPOINT
(Hartford, CT.) – The Hartford Police Department Traffic Division will conduct a DUI Enforcement Checkpoint on Thursday, January 22, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., in the area of 90 Brainard Road.
This checkpoint is part of the Hartford Police Department's ongoing expanded DUI enforcement program supervised by the HPD's Traffic Division and funded through a grant from the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation DUI Enforcement Program.
