HARTFORD POLICE TO CONDUCT DUI ENFORCEMENT CHECKPOINT
(Hartford, CT.) – The Hartford Police Department Traffic Division will conduct a DUI Enforcement Checkpoint on Friday, April 3, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., in the area of 809 Asylum Avenue.
This checkpoint is part of the Hartford Police Department's ongoing expanded DUI enforcement program supervised by the HPD's Traffic Division and funded through a grant from the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation DUI Enforcement Program.

On March 30, 2015, detectives from the Hartford Police Department's Vice and Narcotics Unit conducted a citywide prostitution detail utilizing an undercover detective posing "as a John". This operation was conducted in response to citizen complaints regarding street level prostitution in the city. A total of 14 parties were placed under arrest during the operation (13) women were arrested and charged with Prostitution, and (1) women was charged with possession of narcotics. All Parties were debriefed.

On March 31, 2015, at 7:30am The Hartford Fire Department was dispatched to 22 Evergreen Avenue on the report of a fire. The damage to the apartment building was contained within apartment A7. There was one victim sent to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Other units in the multi-apartment building were occupied at the time. Hartford Police personnel responded to assist. During the investigation, a member of the Fire Marshall's office informed HPD that he believed the fire was arson related. HPD initiated an immediate criminal investigation with the assistance of HFD. Investigators learned that the renter of apartment A7 had set the fire in his apartment intentionally. Evidence was obtained, and the suspect was interviewed. The suspect was arrested and charged.
