DUI Checkpoint March 19, 2015

(Hartford, CT.) – The Hartford Police Department Traffic Division will conduct a DUI Enforcement Checkpoint on Thursday, March 19, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., in the area of 90 Brainard Road.

This checkpoint is part of the Hartford Police Department's ongoing expanded DUI enforcement program supervised by the HPD's Traffic Division and funded through a grant from the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation DUI Enforcement Program.

Saint Patrick's Day Parade

Due to the rescheduled Hartford St. Patrick's Day Parade the only access to the Connecticut Spring Antiques Show and Hartford Armory on Saturday March 21, 2015 will be the ASYLUM STREET EXITS OFF OF I-84 EAST AND WEST.

From 84 West
Take Exit 48 Asylum Street
Right at the light at the end of the ramp (Asylum Street)
Veer left at the "Y" in the road
Take left at the Light (Broad Street)
The Armory is two blocks south on the left

From 84 East
Take Exit 48 A to Asylum Avenue
Take a left onto Asylum Avenue
After first traffic light veer left at "Y" in the road
Take left at the Light (Broad Street)

STF Arrest March 14, 2015

On March 14, 2015, Detectives from the Hartford Police Department Shooting Task Force were conducting proactive patrols in the area of Mather Street and Bedford Street in response to recent gunfire incidents. Task Force members were investigating three individuals in front of the Super Deli market. As the Task Force officers approached to investigate, one of the parties discarded a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun. (Intelligence gained over the course of the last few weeks also indicates that the firearm seized during this incident was used in several recent shootings in the area). All three parties were detained, and the other two individuals (One Adult, One Juvenile), were found in possession of marijuana that was packaged for street level sale. The arrested juvenile is currently on Juvenile Probation for previous firearms charges.

Arrested 1: Andre Rodriguez aka "Flip" 27 of, Hartford CT.
Charges: Criminal Trespass 1st , Criminal Possession of a Pistol, and Pistol w/o Permit.

Arrested 2: Brandon Dakers aka "Doe-Boy" 22 of, Hartford CT
Charges: Criminal Trespass 1st, Possession Marijuana, and P.W.I.T.S. Marijuana.

Juvenile Arrested Party : 17 yo Male from Hartford
Charges: Criminal Trespass 1st, Possession Marijuana, and P.W.I.T.S. Marijuana.

Evidence: Berretta .40 Caliber, model "Brigadier", semi-automatic pistol  containing (11) live 40. caliber ammunition rounds, (19) bags of packaged Marijuana, $175.00 US Currency and two cellular phones.
