Arrest July 2, 2015

On Sunday, May 10, 2015, Hartford Police Department Patrol Officers and Shooting Task Force Officers responded to 29 Seyms Street for a citizens report of shots fired. This was confirmed with a Shot Spotter alert. In the parking lot of the House of Restoration Church, officers located (4) .45 caliber shell casings and (5) live .45 caliber rounds of ammunition. STF Detectives were assigned the investigation. A male suspect fired numerous shots into an occupied apartment located at 29 Seyms Street occupied by adults and young children. One of the projectiles lodged into a child's door jam. The Detective's identified a suspect and developed probable cause leading to the preparation of an arrest warrant. On July 2, 2015, an arrest warrant was granted at GA14 with a court set bond of $1,000,000.00. Almodovar was apprehended by members of the HPD Vice & Narcotics Division on July 2nd.

Package Store Robbery

On July 2, 2015, at approximately 9:00 pm, Hartford Police Department South End Community Service Officers were in the area of 402 Franklin Avenue. The officers observed a male wearing a red hoody and black mask and another wearing a dark colored sweatshirt carrying a duffle bag, exiting Franklin Avenue Package Store. Seconds later, the victim emerged from the store and pointed towards a black Nissan Maxima fleeing east on Bodwell Street. The officers activated their police lights and siren, at which time the suspect's vehicle increased its speed, engaging the officers in a pursuit.
This pursuit continued through the south end of the city and into the Town of Newington and West Hartford. The suspect's vehicle stopped in the Town of West Hartford, at which time four suspects were taken into
custody.

Narcotics Operation July 2, 2015

On July 2, 2015, Detectives from the Hartford Police Department's Vice and Narcotics Unit and Officers from the North Community Services division conducted an undercover narcotics operation in the area of the Sands Housing Complex on Main St. This operation was conducted in response to recent shots fired incidents and numerous citizen complaints regarding street level narcotics sales in the area. Undercover detectives conducted surveillance in the area and were able to identify prospective buyers and sellers of narcotics. A total of (11) suspects were arrested and charged with various narcotics charges. In addition Officers recovered two stolen motorcycles and arrested an individual who was wanted by STF for a gun related warrant.
