On September 4, 2014, at 12:10 pm an organized demonstration/protest was conducted at 172 Washington St. Hartford CT. Approximately one hundred protesters marched from the area of Broad Street at Grand Street to the incident location. The protesters then conducted a demonstration at the said address. During the incident, thirteen protesters sat in the roadway of Washington Street blocking northbound vehicular traffic. As a result, northbound traffic on Washington St. was diverted at Jefferson St. The incident commander gave three separate orders to exit the roadway. The thirteen parties failed to comply with these orders. These specific demonstrators were transported from the scene, issued a misdemeanor summons for Disorderly Conduct and released. Seven of those arrested provided resident addresses in Rhode Island, and six had resident addresses in Connecticut. All parties were given a Community Court appearance date of September 12, 2014.

HARTFORD POLICE TO CONDUCT DUI ENFORCEMENT CHECKPOINT
(Hartford, CT.) – The Hartford Police Department Traffic Division will conduct a DUI Enforcement Checkpoint on Thursday, September 4, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., in the area of 175 New Britain Avenue.
This checkpoint is part of the Hartford Police Department's ongoing expanded DUI enforcement program supervised by the HPD's Traffic Division and funded through a grant from the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation DUI Enforcement Program.
