Multi-Agency Investigation Leads to Arrest

On September 3, 2015, at 6:21pm members of the Hartford Police Department Special Operations Group (SOG), Homeland Security Investigations Unit (HSI), Homeland Security Air Wing, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), HPD Shooting Task Force (STF), HPD Community Service Officers (CSO), HPD K-9 Unit, HPD Emergency Response Team, and North Central Emergency Response Team simultaneously executed a search warrant, and arrest warrants, at 2495 and 2505 Main Street. The warrants were the result of a long-term investigation by HPD-SOG, HSI, and DEA, into a large scale heroin trafficking operation. This operation involved several controlled purchases, surveillance, on site arrests, and electronic monitoring.

The following parties were arrested and taken to HPD during the warrant execution:

1) John Colon, DOB 9/13/90, 1630 Main Street Hartford, CT.
Charges: Narcotics, PWITS, PWITS 1500 Feet of a School, Drug Factory, and Interfering with Police. *Three arrest warrants for Sale of Narcotics.

2) Joshua Stracham, DOB 10/16/91, 19 Benton Street Hartford, CT.
Charges: Narcotics, PWITS, PWITS 1500 Feet of a School, Drug Factory, and Interfering with Police. *Three arrest warrants for Sale of Narcotics.

3) Matthew Rodriguez, DOB 8/10/88, 147 Flatbush Avenue Hartford, CT.
Charges: Narcotics, PWITS, PWITS 1500 Feet of a School, Drug Factory, and Interfering with Police. *One arrest warrant for Sale of Narcotics.

4) Hector Navedo, DOB 9/18/91, 515 Franklin Avenue Hartford, CT.
Charges: Narcotics, PWITS, PWITS 1500 Feet of a School, Drug Factory, and Interfering with Police.

5) Rafael Martinez, DOB 11/15/91, 34 Otis Street Hartford, CT.
Charges: Narcotics, PWITS, PWITS 1500 Feet of a School, Drug Factory, and Interfering with Police.

6) Brandon Broughton, DOB 5/16/92, 32 Sanford Street Hartford, CT.
Charges: Narcotics, PWITS, PWITS 1500 Feet of a School, Drug Factory, and Interfering with Police.

7) Jermaine Jenkins, DOB 6/6/91, 1588 Albany Avenue Hartford, CT.
Charges: Narcotics, PWITS, PWITS 1500 Feet of a School, Drug Factory, and Interfering with Police.

8) Argenis Deleon, DOB 11/9/90, 2505 Main Street #1 Hartford, CT.
Charges: Narcotics, PWITS, PWITS 1500 Feet of a School, Drug Factory, and Interfering with Police.

9) Naomi Alicea, DOB 2/10/83, 2505 Main Street #1 Hartford, CT.
Charges: Interfering with a Search Warrant and Criminal Attempt to Commit Assault on Police.

10) David Stark, DOB 12/20/76, 27 Chestnut Street Hartford, CT.
Charges: Criminal Trespass Third Degree and Possession of Narcotics.

11) Kevin Holmgren, DOB 1/26/69, 89 West Side Boulevard Burlington, CT.
Charges: Criminal Trespass Third Degree and Possession of Narcotics.

Also arrested:

Darrien Collier, DOB 9/21/85 126, Main Street Hartford, CT. Outstanding Arrest Warrant for Sale of Narcotics

Evidence:
1) 2,964 Bags of Heroin
2) 92 Bags of Cocaine
3) 1.72 Ounces of Marijuna
4) $14,059 in Suspected Drug Proceeds

Fugitive Captured

On Friday, September 3, 2015, the Hartford Police and United States Marshal's Violent Fugitive Task Force developed investigative information as to a possible location of wanted shooting suspect Aaron Taylor. At approximately 7:00pm members of the Fugitive Task Force, Hartford Shooting Task Force, Hartford Vice & Narcotics Division, CT State Police, East Hartford Police, Homeland Security Investigations and FBI Northern CT Violent Gang Task Force, surrounded the target address of 22H Jaidee Drive in East Hartford, CT. Occupants of the apartment were initially resistant, but were quickly overcome.

Located on the second floor and taken into custody after a brief struggle, was accused Aaron J. Taylor. In plain view in close proximity to Taylor were two large caliber revolvers. The apartment was secured for a thorough search by search warrant.

It is believed the suspect vehicle used, a black Nissan Maxima, was recovered / seized on Jaidee Drive.
Also arrested (by CT State Police assigned to the Shooting Task Force) was Lanatrica Terry, F/B/38 (DOB 5/4/77), of 22H Jaidee Drive, East Hartford, for Hindering Prosecution, Interfering w/ Police and Risk of Injury to a Minor (3 counts).

Accused Taylor was wanted on two Felony warrants for two shootings;

#15-15639; 932 Capitol Avenue, occurring 05/24/15
Charges; Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder and Assault 1st Degree
Warrant #2;
#15-15640; 398 Garden Street, occurring 05/25/15

Aaron Taylor was take to HPD Major Crimes Division and the booked. He is being held on a $1.35 Million dollar bond.

Reward for Information Leading to Arrest

A reward in the amount of $5,000 is being offered for information directly leading to the capture of wanted felon, Aaron Taylor.

The Hartford Police Department has information that Aaron Taylor; a suspect wanted for at least two shootings in Hartford, has returned and is active in the region. Detectives had information that Taylor was out of the State. However, recent information is that Taylor is in the Hartford Region.

Aaron Taylor, 12/17/89, of Windsor, CT has active arrest warrants for two shootings that occurred on May 24, 2015.The first, at 932 Capital Avenue, where he is to have allegedly shot Pastor Augustus Sealy. Minutes later he was at 402 Garden Street where he allegedly shot Robert Jones. He is currently charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder and Assault in the First Degree in both cases. The warrant carries a 1.35 million dollar judge set bond. Taylor operated a black Nissan Maxima in these incidents although the marker plate is not known at this time. He is a convicted felon with several previous firearm offenses. Use caution with Taylor as the firearm in this incident has NOT been recovered, and he has extremely violent tendencies. Please do not approach him.
