Arrest Made in Bonner Street Shots Fired

On July 4, 2015, at 9:49 p.m., Hartford Shooting Task Force Detectives and HPD Officers responded to the area of 51 Bonner Street on a report of shots fired. HPD Detectives and officers were given a suspect description of a Hispanic male, six feet tall, dreads, wearing a red shirt and was observed departing the area in a black vehicle. After a canvas was conducted, shotgun shell casings and a cell phone was recovered. No injuries or property damage was reported. HPD Shooting Task Force Detectives were assigned the investigation and identified a potential suspect as Aven Adorno. Adorno, a supervised parolee, was later located and interviewed by Shooting Task Force Detectives, where Adorno provided a sworn voluntary written statement confessing to the shooting. When the interview concluded, Adorno was remanded to the Hartford Correction Center (HCC) by Department of Corrections personnel assigned to the Shooting Task Force. An arrest warrant was prepared and submitted to GA-14 and granted on August 20, 2015, with a $250,000 Judge set bond. Adorno is currently incarcerated and will be Habeas to GA-14 for arraignment.

Firearms Arrest September 11, 2015

On September 11, 2015, the Hartford Police Department Special Operations investigators received information that a suspect was coming to Hartford to trade an illegal firearm for narcotics. During surveillance, detectives observed the suspect inside a vehicle at the 410 Market Street Citgo. During the course of the investigation detectives conducted a vehicle search. An American Arms .22 caliber pistol was recovered hidden inside a pillow case. The suspect, identified as David Frost, DOB 12/4/87, admitted to possessing the firearm. Frost is a convicted felon and was charged with criminal possession of a firearm and weapons in a Motor Vehicle. The Vice and Narcotics Unit assisted with the arrest.

Arrest Made for Incident on 3281 Main Street

On May 12, 2015, at 12:46am, Hartford Police Department Patrol Officers reported numerous gunshots coming from the rear of the Ranch House located at 3281 Main Street. Upon arrival, patrol officers encountered a chaotic scene in which 29 shell casings from three different caliber firearms were recovered as well as some projectiles. Four vehicles, a house and the rear of 3281 Main Street sustained projectile damage. There was one victim who suffered a non-life threatening wound to the head. Detectives from the Hartford Shooting Task Force were notified of the incident, responded to the scene, and were assigned the investigation. During the course of their investigation, three suspects were immediately identified. Three warrants were submitted to GA-14 and approved on June 1, 2015, with $750,000 bonds on each. Immediate efforts were taken to capture the three suspects identified as Kenneth Jewell, 24, of Hartford, CT; Carlton Forbes, 22, of Hartford, CT and Shawn Robinson, 24, of East Hartford, CT. Suspects Jewel and Robinson have been taken into custody. Accused Carlton Forbes is still outstanding, is aware that he has a warrant and has continued to elude police attempts to apprehend him. Forbes is considered armed and dangerous as no weapons have been recovered.
During the course of the investigation, a fourth shooter was identified as Glen Asberry, 24, of Hartford, CT, who was also struck by gunfire during the incident. A warrant was submitted to GA-14 for Asberry and was approved on September 8, 2015, with a cash only judge set bond of $75,000. On September 10, 2015, Asberry was apprehended without incident by members of the HPD Shooting Task Force.

1. Criminal Attempt at Assault 1st Degree
2. Carrying a Pistol without a Permit
3. Criminal Possession of a Firearm
4. Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm
5. Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree

Accused: Carlton Forbes, 22, of Hartford, CT (Still outstanding Warrant)
Charges:
1. Assault 1st Degree with a firearm
2. Conspiracy Assault 1st Degree
3. Carrying a pistol without a permit
4. Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm
5. Criminal Possession of a Firearm
6. Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree
