City of Hartford Department of Public Works Releases Two Traffic Advisories

For Summit and South Whitney Street Excavations

(July 3, 2012) --- On Monday, July 9th through Friday, July 13th, South Whitney Street (near Park Street) will be reduced to one lane while contractors for Northeast Utilities perform street excavation work. The road is expected to be open for vehicles with Traffic Control Officers in place. Work will begin at 9AM and is expected to be completed by 3PM daily. Hartford Police Officers will be on site to ensure vehicular and pedestrian safety.

And on Saturday, July 14th through Thursday, July 19th, Summit Street will be closed between Zion Street and Allen Place while contractors for Northeast Utilities perform street excavation work. No through traffic will be permitted during construction periods. Work will begin at 7AM and is expected to be completed by 5PM daily. Hartford Police Officers will be on site to ensure vehicular and pedestrian safety.
