The season will run daily from the day after Thanksgiving until February 1, 2014.
People from all around come to enjoy ice skating, skating shows, historic Bushnell Park, and the City of Hartford as a choice destination for family fun and entertainment. East Hartford Mayor Marcia Leclerc, West Hartford Mayor Scott Slifka and Simsbury First Selectman Mary Glassman are leading skate drives in their communities as well.
“Last year almost 100,000 people enjoyed Winterfest Hartford from all over the state. We would like more families to come out and enjoy this wonderful Capital City event. Sometimes children have not been dressed adequately for the cold weather. This year’s coat drive will ensure that more children are dressed appropriately and ensure that our city and suburban families and enjoy their capital city during the holiday season,” said Hartford Mayor Pedro E. Segarra.
This year we are offering extended programming with a Winter Market in Bushnell Park. The Market will have over twenty artisan Vendors offering unique, handmade gift options and will be open Friday November 29th from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 30th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
