(November 18, 2013) On Tuesday at 6:45am, Mayor Pedro E. Segarra will participate in Bank of America’s 14th Annual Turkey Tuesday to support Foodshare, a regional food bank that provides food to community kitchens, shelters, and other social service organizations that serve children, families and seniors.
At 8:00am, Mayor Segarra will accept an award from the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence at their “First 100 Plus” Third Annual Breakfast Ceremony in Cromwell.
At 10:00am, Mayor Segarra will join Executive Vice President and General Counsel of The Hartford, Alan Kreczko and President of Junior Achievement of Southwest New England, Lou Golden for the grand opening of the new Junior Achievement Center. The center will be used to host programming on business and financial education for K-12 students in the Greater Hartford area.
At 11:00am, Mayor Segarra will be joined by State Senator John Fonfara, State Representative Doug McCrory, State Representative Brandon McGee, Kevin Bingham, Chief Operating Officer of the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation and Students from Global Communications Academy for a ground breaking ceremony. The City of Hartford has partnered with the Ripken Foundation for the construction of the City’s first synthetic surface youth athletic parks.
