NO PARKING BAN IN CITY OF HARTFORD

NO PARKING BAN IN CITY OF HARTFORD

HARTFORD, CONN (March 21, 2018) – This afternoon Mayor Bronin released the statement below announcing the City of Hartford will not be activating a snow parking ban for today’s storm.

“We are not activating a snow parking ban for today’s snow storm,” said Mayor Bronin.  “By not imposing a ban, we are taking a calculated risk to increase the chance of keeping school open tomorrow.  We are still expecting between 4 and 8 inches of snow starting later today and going into the night, and our Public Works team will not be able to plow as effectively as they would if we activated a parking ban.  If you live in Hartford, please make an extra effort to find and utilize off-street parking if at all possible.  If you commute to Hartford, please anticipate a longer commute tomorrow morning.  Again, we are making a conscious decision that will make the cleanup more difficult, but maximizes the chance of keeping schools open tomorrow.”
