Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra Tells Residents to Stay Off the Roads Due Snowstorm

Blizzard Conditions Force Plow Efforts To Temporarily Cease Overnight

(February 9, 2013) – Overnight Mayor Pedro E. Segarra issued a warning to residents to stay clear of the roads to allow for proper clean-up. High winds, pour visibility and heavy per-hour snow fall forced plow operations to temporarily cease overnight. The City will double its efforts to clear major arteries at 7am.

"The combination of elements made conditions extremely dangerous if not impossible for traveling," said Segarra. "We need everyone's cooperation in order to get the roads cleared and safe. I cannot emphasize this enough. Please use common sense, be patient and stay home."
