Tuesday: Mayor Segarra Celebrates National Citizenship Day with Swearing In of 30 New Citizens

(September 16, 2013) - In recognition of National Citizenship Day, Hartford Mayor Pedro E. Segarra will provide the keynote address at a swearing-in ceremony for 30 new US Citizens in the City Hall Atrium, presided over by U.S. District Court of Connecticut Magistrate Judge Donna F. Martinez. The Mayor recently submitted an ordinance creating a Commission on Refugee and Immigrant Affairs to City Council.

September 17th is National Citizenship Day, part of National Welcoming Week, which runs September 15 – 22. These designations are intended to highlight the contributions of immigrants to American communities.
