Mayor Segarra Accepts Resignation from Director of Public Works and Finance; Appoints New Staff

(September 12, 2013) - Today, Mayor Segarra announced that he has accepted the resignation of Kevin Burnham, Director of the Department of Public Works and Julio Molleda, Director of Finance. Mr. Burnham has worked for the City of Hartford since 2002 and has an annual salary of $120,019. Mr. Molleda worked for the Hartford Library and Board of Education before coming to City Hall in 2011 at an annual salary of $151,918. Their resignation is effective October 4th.

Thursday: Mayor Segarra Declares September Emergency Preparedness Month

(September 11, 2013) Tomorrow, Hartford Mayor Pedro E. Segarra will join Councilman Kyle Anderson, and members of the Capital Region Emergency Planning Committee (CROG) for a news conference to declare September Emergency Preparedness Month.

City of Hartford Employees Launch Month-Long Initiative in Support of The United Way

(September 11, 2013) - On Friday, September 13, City of Hartford employees will begin a month long campaign to raise awareness about the assistance provided to Hartford residents through the United Way. A fall festival themed kickoff event with balloons, music, candy apples, popcorn, games, and more is scheduled from noon to 3pm in Burr Mall. Attendees can “dunk” a Councilman, Fire Chief or other brave volunteers for a small donation. City employees will also participate in a silent auction and department competitions throughout the month.

Friday: Mayor Segarra Joins Governor Malloy and Commissioner Reviczky for Farm-to-chef Week Kick Off; Attends Ribbon Cutting for Trude Mero Family Resource Center

(September 5, 2013) Tomorrow morning, Hartford Mayor Pedro E. Segarra will join Governor Malloy and Commissioner Reviczky for a news conference to announce Farm-To-Chef Week.

Later in the evening, Mayor Segarra he will attend a ribbon cutting for the Trude Mero CREC Family Resource Center at the YMCA on Albany Avenue. Ms. Mero, a long-time community leader, passed in July.
