“My sincerest congratulations go to Carmen Espinosa for being selected to serve on the State’s highest court. I can’t think of someone more deserving. I have known Carmen for more than 20 years; she is passionate, respected and profoundly qualified to serve the people of Connecticut from the bench.
(March 28, 2013) – Today, Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra was joined by Governor Dannel P. Malloy at City Hall for a rally to urge Congress to vote on comprehensive gun legislation. The Senate is scheduled to vote April 8 or 9 on gun legislation that includes universal background checks. A recent Quinnipiac University poll found 88 percent support for universal background checks, including 85 percent among gun owners. Segarra- an active member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns recently featured in their national ad campaign - has advocated for gun restrictions since taking office in 2010.

(March 20, 2013) – Today, Mayor Pedro E. Segarra announced that Saundra Kee Borges, who has been serving as Acting Chief Operating Officer following the departure of David Panagore in August 2012, has been permanently named to the same position. Kee Borges a long-time city resident, previously served the city as Deputy Corporation Counsel and, at 32, was named Hartford’s first female City Manager. Mayor Segarra named Kee Borges Corporation Counsel shortly after he took office in June 2010.
