Burials are performed by this division on an ongoing basis at the four active cemeteries, including Soldiers' Field. Other duties include beach maintenance at Batterson Park and indoor plant and floral displays at municipal offices and buildings citywide.

The Forestry Unit of the Parks Division maintains all city street trees as well as the specimen and forest trees in all parks, playgrounds and recreation areas.

Snow and ice removal are also performed by this division at the following locations: sidewalks and parking lots at city buildings, police substation walks and parking lots, city run daycare facilities and all recreation center walks and parking lots. This is in addition to parks, playgrounds, playscapes and regularly maintained areas.
