CURBSIDE RECYCLING COLLECTION
FOR CHRISTMAS TREES
The City of
Hartford, Department of Public Works, will provide residents with curbside
collection service for Christmas trees beginning on Monday, January 11, 2010 and
ending Friday, January 29, 2010.
Residents are asked to remove all
decorations from the trees, prior to placing them at the curb on their weekly
assigned waste collection days. The trees will be collected by special packer
trucks and will be recycled into woodchips and mulch.
Residents are also reminded to place
their trash and recycling containers at the curb no earlier than 4:00 p.m. on
the day before collection and no later than 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection.
Remember to put only household trash in the city issued rollout trash carts and
keep lids closed at all times.
Reminder: “GO
GREEN USE BLUE”
by placing all of the following acceptable
recyclables in the blue single-stream recycling carts: Bottles, Tin Cans, Steel
Cans, Aerosol Cans, Plastic Containers, Clean Foil, Newspapers, Cardboards,
Magazines, Catalogs,
Cereal Boxes, Paper
Egg Cartons, Pasta Boxes,
Shoe Boxes, Shredded
Paper, Office Paper,
School Paper, Junk
Mail, Milk Cartons
& Juice Boxes.
