University of Connecticut's new Hartford Campus building, an adaptive reuse of the historic Hartford Times building, is scheduled to open in the Fall 2017. The building is located in the Front Street District, a recent mixed use and entertainment development adjacent to the CT Science Center and CT Convention Center.

  WALK-IN CONSULTS & FILING OF APPLICATIONS

 All  walk-in consults and the filing of applications take place at Licensing and Inspection, 260 Constitution Plaza, 1st floor, between the hours of 8:30am and 12:30pm.  There are no walk-in consults at 250 Constitution Plaza, 4th floor.  Meetings may be scheduled for all other times.

Building permits are issued by the Licenses & Inspection Division and is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Connecticut State Building Code. We inspect new construction and various improvments to existing structures as well as the maintenance or use of equipment and systems. Our staff is dedicated to ensuring the health and public safety of the citizens in the City of Hartford.

Application Procedures & Payments

Applications are no longer accepted by mail.  Click here to learn more.  Permit applications can normally be approved at the L&I Counter as the time of filing.

PaymentsWe no longer accept cash.  The City of Hartford Division of Licenses and Inspections will ONLY accept payments by check, money order or credit card (Visa, Master Card or Discover).
