Property Taxes:
In Connecticut, the collection of property taxes is the exclusive function of municipal government. The official responsible for this function is the local Tax Collector. The Tax Collector in Hartford is appointed. Tax collectors are responsible for insuring that all property taxes due the municipality are collected.

Why Stand In Line?   If you are current with your taxes and received your tax bill, you can save time by mailing payment to the address provided with the bill.

Real Estate Closing:  

If you want a printed copy, Download this request form   fill it out and fax it back to us at (860) 722-6085. 

Tax Refund: If you are due a tax refund for reasons such as a motor vehicle was sold or damaged, veteran's exemption not applied or if you overpaid your taxes... you may download a "Request for Refund Application".  You may also download the instructions for the form. 

Other Tax Payment Information:

You may also download the Tax Payment General Information form  and fax your inquiry to the Tax Collector's Office at (860) 722-6085.
Requests must be made in writing using the above linked form to ensure accuracy and completeness.   Requests should be specific as to the owner name, address, and property description.  Request must include a telephone number where someone can be reached in case there is a question.

Questions regarding  assessed value, exemptions,  tax relief programs, as well as motor vehicles that have been sold, totaled, stolen, moved out of state or should be taxed by another town will be answered by the Tax Assessor.
