Biography of Olga Iris Vazquez

Olga Iris Vázquez is a lifelong resident of the City of Hartford. She was elected Democratic Registrar of Voters in 2008 and brings 12 years of knowledge and experience to the office.  She is committed to providing quality service with the highest level of professionalism, integrity and accuracy in the administration of the Office of the Registrars.  As a bilingual individual, she will provide direct customer contact with Hartford’s diverse population and sees public service as a way to give back to the community.

One of her primary objectives is to inform youth and adults of the importance of participation in the electoral process as a way of empowering their communities and themselves as individuals.  During her administration, she plans, through directed outreach activities,  to inform youth and adults of the importance of participation in the electoral process and to increase the number of registered voters in Hartford.  More importantly, she pledges that under her administration, The Registrars office will administer its responsibilities according to the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut and the City Charter.

Olga is currently a student at Springfield College where she is pursuing a degree in Human Resources.
